In the mid 1990s Stephen was part of a team from De Leuw Chadwick who designed the reinforced concrete roof and escalator structures for the flagship Canary Wharf Tube Station on the Jubiliee Line Extenstion.
Opened on17 September 1999 by Ken Livingston it is maintained by Tube Lines. Over 40 million people pass through the station each year, making it one the busiest stations on the London Underground).
De Leuw Chadwick (now Pell Frischman) were appointed by Foster and Partners to provide structural design services jointly with Posford Duvivier (now Haskoning) and to work closely with the main contractor Tarmac Bachy.
